New exhibitions at Laney Contemporary challenge how you'll respond and connect to art

Visiting an art gallery can be a moving experience when you connect to the works, but how do you interact with artwork that seems to stare right back at you?  

If you’ve ever wanted to test this theory, Laney Contemporary’s latest installations, "8" and "Pete Schulte: November 4 2022 - January 14 2023," provide the perfect opportunity. However, the works in these exhibitions don’t gaze back to intimidate but to encourage visitors to join a conversation about what it means to be human in the modern world.

Perspective is key in "8," a guest-curated group exhibition by The Fuel and Lumber Company co-founders Pete Schulte and Amy Pleasant. Turned sideways, the number 8 becomes a symbol of infinity, of creativity’s limitless power to affect the world, especially when several creative minds come together.
