ABOUT

In 2017, Laney Contemporary opened in Savannah, Georgia, to provide a platform for emerging and established contemporary artists. Just west of Savannah’s historic district and housed in a Lee J. Meyer building, Laney Contemporary exhibits a dynamic selection of solo and themed exhibitions featuring Southeastern regional and international artists. With a sprawling front lawn, the gallery is unique in its long-term vision and deep commitment to engage Savannah’s diverse artistic community by regularly hosting a wide variety of events, including outdoor screenings and noteworthy culinary experiences. The gallery frequently organizes free public events, artist talks, and programmatic engagements with community partners, such as the James Beard Award-winning restaurant, The Grey, the coastal conservancy, 100 Miles, and the esteemed riverfront hotel, Thompson Savannah. Through participation in art fairs such as Nada, Miami, Future Fair, and Untitled Art, Laney Contemporary continues to pursue its vision of elevating the underrepresented artists of the South.
