None of the pieces in Craig Drennen’s new show at Laney Contemporary, “Merchants, Bandits, and Certain Senators,” are collage.
“Craig once told me that he has had people (gallerists included) argue with him that there must be collage elements in his work,” noted Laney Contemporary Gallery Director Susan Laney.
“His paintings are magic, unbelievable when experienced in person. The viewer will be mesmerized by the detail, texture, and movement and will likely find surprises. Photographs don't do them justice.”
