In essence, this exhibition is a memento of the lasting impacts and impressions of art. Art is often a marker for experience, a starting point for personal storytelling, or a reminder of community histories. The works included in this exhibition have never been seen in relation to one another. This grouping presents a fresh dialog between images and ideas. It engages specific gallery spaces with artworks that are united by themes of memory and forgetting, calendar time and cyclical time, or intimacy and distance, fostering unexpected conceptual relationships. Conversations between works are energized when placed in new locations and adjacencies. Here they slip between abstraction and figuration while recalling the emotional associations we bring to light and color, text and texture.
