ENY LEE PARKER
FIRST HAND
Exhibition Details
As today’s consuming culture continues to prioritize comfort and convenience, we no longer notice the corners of our spaces, nor do we appreciate the fragility of things. This newest collection by ceramist and furniture designer Eny Lee Parker brings emphasis to furniture, not only in the conception of space, but in living. Parker reclaims the essence of making used in traditional craft from our past – the slowness, the intention, the respect for natural resources, creating a contemporary collection that brings awareness to our presence as well as to non-living things. The purpose of her designs is to echo humanity in character, emotions, and physicality through using traditional methods of fabrication in a contemporary setting.
Eny graduated with a BFA in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design and is working towards her MFA in Furniture Design. She was recently featured in New York Times’ Style Magazine and is an honoree of the American Design Hot List, selected by Sight Unseen.
Parker has exhibited in several group shows including SCAD Gutstein Gallery and Pei Ling Chan Gallery (Savannah, GA). She has also participated in numerous design fairs such as the International Contemporary Furniture Fair for the past three years, Wanted Design in 2014 and 2015, Form & Seek (Milan Design Week) in 2017, and Sight Unseen (offsite) in 2017. Her designs have been reviewed in Architectural Digest, Sight Unseen, T Magazine, Cultured Magazine, Design Milk, Refinery29, among others.
